Google allows Gambling Apps on Play Store in the US and 14 other Countries

Google is expanding access to the gambling games which allows gamers to use real money in the United States and 14 other countries. This new updated program policy of Google allows apps that enable or facilitate online gambling or betting on Play Store and this policy will come into effect from 1st March, 2021.

As per the reports, Google will soon allow real money gambling apps, betting apps and fantasy apps on its Play Store which will be available for the users in 15 countries including the US.

Currently, these gambling apps are available in 4 countries only. These countries are the UK, France, Ireland and Brazil. The laws regulating gambling are pretty much less restrictive in these four countries.

From March onwards, Google will permit these gambling apps in Belgium, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Mexico, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Spain, Romania, The United States and Sweden as per the new regulations and guidelines.

The developer will have to meet several requirements to access Google’s customer including proving itself an approved government operator or registered as licensed operator. Additionally, they must implement protections to keep underage users out of these apps.

Also, the developer must have a valid operating license in a specified country for these types of online gambling products, and then only Google will allow online casino, sports betting, lotteries and fantasy sports apps on its Play Store.

There is one more thing that each country will have its own limitations depending upon the type of online gambling app.
